Every time Glossier hints at a new product launch, the beauty industry stops what it's doing and takes notice. Take it from us. We collectively sit on the edge of our seats until the product drops and we can try it out for ourselves. It's what happened when the brand hinted at its first fragrance, Glossier You, and when we first caught wind of the brand's anti-acne exfoliating toner, Solution. It's also what happened this morning when Glossier's latest product went live. What can we say? To us, testing new beauty products is the equivalent of finding a crumpled $20 bill in an old coat pocket or learning that our favorite Netflix series has been granted a second season-it's the little things.
The newest addition to the Glossier fam is called Lidstar ($30), and it's a two-in-one eye product that's sure to be worth the hype-Queen Bey wore it to this year's Grammy Awards (if that's not buzzy, then we don't know what is). Little did we know that it was also set to make its debut on last night's Oscars red carpet. Not one, not two, but seven different celebs wore Lidstar to the Academy Awards, including one of our favorite beauty muses, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
The product comes in a small, sleek tube topped with a pink cap. Inside, there's a classic doe-foot applicator and a creamy, pearlescent eye shadow formula. Apply it to the eyelid and blend out using your fingers or a small brush. You'll see soft and diffused color that has an ultra-glowy finish. Basically, it looks like the perfect eye shadow for people who don't like traditional eye shadows. The brand says it's easy, flattering, and long-lasting. The brand promises it will stay smudge- and crease-free for up to 12 full hours, thanks to something called "Softlock Technology." Low-maintenance beauty at its finest, it's also cruelty-free, paraben-free, and fragrance-free.Getty Images
It comes in six different shades that range from a glimmering beige to a lilac purple and a smoky green. We have a special preference for the shade Slip, which is a soft baby-pink color that has a reflective golden shimmer, though Rosie Huntington-Whiteley makes a strong case for the taupe and green shades. She seems to be wearing a combination of the shades Moon and Herb. Her look, thanks to celeb makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes, is slightly smoky, soft, and diffused. We're obsessed.
Like Whiteley, BeyoncГ© also seemed to be wearing a combination of two different shades at the Grammys. In her case, it looked like she wore the shade Lily, a sheer lilac color that has a purple and blue highlight, and Fawn, a cool taupe color with a violet and gold highlight. Again, we needn't say it, but we're going to. Her makeup look is perfection.Getty Images
Taraji P. Henson was another one of the seven celebs who wore Lidstar on the red carpet and subsequent awards ceremony. Like BeyoncГ©, she also seems to be wearing Lily. Her bold matte raspberry lip color brings out the luminescent purple and blue tones on her eyes. We're here for her unexpected color pairing, and rest assured that we'll be trying out her raspberry lip paired with lilac eyes ASAP.
The other celebrities who wore Lidstar to the Oscars red carpet and ceremony were Allison Janney, Tracee Ellis Ross, Maya Rudolph, and Tiffany Haddish, as well as Best Director nominee Greta Gerwig, who was nominated for her film Lady Bird. If it's fit and if it's approved by all these inspirational women in Hollywood, then consider our order as already placed.
