Each year Glamour magazine hosts an event honoring trailblazing, powerful, and game-changing women across all industries. It's called the Glamour Women of the Year Awards, and this time it was held in New York City. Models, actresses, athletes, singers, and activists hit the red carpet to show support and solidarity. It's kind of amazing, and we highly suggest learning more about it if you're unfamiliar. After all, it's an event that's organized by women with the aim to bring other women together to celebrate and inspire. What's not to love?
Each woman who attended looked uniquely beautiful and radiant, but as always, there were a few beauty looks that we couldn't stop raving about. From slicked-back hair to graphic liner, red lipstick, and vintage-inspired looks, there was so much creativity and diversity on display. Keep scrolling to see 11 gorgeous beauty looks from the 2017 Glamour Women of the Year Awards.
Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman kept her look super glowy and youthful with long shiny waves, pink shadow and gloss, and lots of highlighter. To us, her icy sheen looks a lot like Glossier's Haloscope Highlighter in Moonstone ($22).В She's so radiant.Getty/Taylor Hill
Tracee Ellis Ross's ombré lip resembled a rich rose petal, thanks to the perfectly blended black-to-red color gradient. It was all thanks to her makeup artist, Romy Soleimani. "To create Tracee's ombré lips, I first applied MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick ($18) as the base and then blended Sephora Liquid Red Lipstick ($14) in the center of her lips," she said. "Next, I used Kevyn Aucoin Bloodroses Lip Pencil ($25) mixed with a black eyeliner from Givenchy to line the inner corners of her mouth and her lower lip as well, blending for an ombré effect."
Nicole KidmanВ walked the red carpet withВ the hairstyle that's quickly becoming a classic for her-the middle-parted high ponytail (if it ain't broke don't fix it, right?). It looks elevated and chic but also easy enough to mimic on our own, as long as we have a curling iron and some shine spray.ВGetty/Taylor Hill
Serena Williams's complexion was beyond perfect. "Knowing this was her first red carpet appearance since giving birth, I wanted to make sure she felt, and looked, simply amazing," celebrity makeup artist Renny Vasquez said about Williams. "I used Black/Opal makeup to create a natural-looking, yet elegantly sculpted look that complemented her high ponytail and black Versace dress." Vasquez applied Black/OpalВ True Color Pore Perfecting Liquid Foundation in Black Walnut ($11) to Williams's face beforeВ contouring.
Victoria's Secret Model Sara Sampaio looked super edgy thanks to her graphic black cat eye (and that piercing gaze-girl knows how to work a camera). To mimic this look, we'll reach for our RevlonВ ColorStay 2-in-1 Angled Kajal Eyeliner ($9) along with a similar nude lipstick and bold brow product.ВGetty/Noam Galai
You can't go wrong with a red lip on the red carpet. Nor can you fail by opting for bold brows, though Cleo Wade's voluminous curls were the aspect of her look that really stood out to us. Her caramel ombrГ© color is making a particularly big impact on us. Time for a pre-holidays color session perhaps?
Zosia Mamet's look is slightly reminiscent of the '70s with her slick straight hair, draped blush, and layered gold jewelry. She's convinced us it's time to pull out our favorite Marc JacobsВ Air Blush Soft Glow Duo ($42) and make our own return to the draping technique.В ВGetty/Noam Galai
Gigi Hadid's bronze look was all thanks to her own Gigi Hadid x Maybelline products-along with her celebrity makeup artist Patrick Ta. "The inspiration for her look actually came from Gigi's herself, using the Gigi Hadid x Maybelline Collection," he said. "She loves a fresh natural face that is glam at the same time. Her go-to is bronze golden goddess, and that is what we gave her!"
Ta used the Gigi Hadid x Maybelline East Coast Glam Liquid Strobe in Iridescent ($12), theВ West Coast Glow Tinted PrimerВ in Medium Deep ($12), andВ finished off the look withВ East Coast Glam Matte Lipstick in McCall ($9).В
Russian model Natasha Poly wore one of our favorite trends to this year's event, smoky and warm-toned eye shadow. Try using Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette ($42), which has a bevy of warm pinks, red, and ochres to mix and match. Pair with a brown lip, as per Poly, and you'll have a super -sleek autumnal makeup look.Getty/Noam Galai
Zendaya's long fanned-out curls, bold brows, smoky eyes, and Barbie pinkВ jumpsuit made for a modern twist on classic '80s style. It's just further proof thatВ '80s trends are back in a big way.ВGetty/Taylor Hill
Instead of going with a golden-bronze look like her sister Gigi did, Bella Hadid chose to wear cool-toned taupe and rose tones. When the two women posed together on the red carpet, even their hair and outfits were opposites. Gigi wore a gold gown with long, voluminous waves. Bella wore a white and silver pantsuit with a slicked-back ponytail. If you ask us, it made for a nice fire-and-ice red carpet moment.В
