In search of that ever-elusive je ne sais quoi quality Gigi Hadid is known for, I stayed up way too late and compiled a list of her best beauty tips from years and years of interviews. They include must-have products, little-known tricks, and a few surprises along the way.
Keep reading for advice on all things hair, makeup, and skincare-straight from the lips of Hadid.
“I have a weird thing against facials,” Hadid told People. “I feel like all day my face is being touched and messed with on set, so I don't want more people touching my face! I don't really do anything that crazy.”
“I've learned very quickly to fall asleep wherever I can,” she added. “I sleep in the car from event to event or show to show sometimes.”
“I don't touch them,” Hadid says. “Sometimes if there are little stragglers and the makeup artist wants to clean them up I'll let them, but it's never enough to shape my eyebrows. I just don't touch them because I'm scared of messing them up. She continues, “On an everyday basis, I don't put anything on them. But if I'm going out I sometimes do want to fill them in, Maybelline has a really good product called Brow Drama ($6). Usually, you need a pencil, and a brush, and something to hold them in place. Brow Drama is all three; you can do the color, then shape them and then it dries and stays exactly like that.”
“I work with Keith at Sally Hershberger in New York City,” Hadid said in an interview with Elle. “He does really good highlights that grow out nicely, and if you're in the sun, it just kind of blends in with what the sun is doing for your hair, so that's really nice.” She told Into the Gloss, “Being on the beach all the time gave me my original highlights, but I get some balayage highlights on top so then when it grows out you can't tell it's been colored. It's definitely L.A., balayage. It's a low-maintenance way to be blonde-way easier than having to go to the salon all the time. I only go every six months or so.”
“I use Charlotte Tilbury Supermodel Body ($65). It's the best tanning glow for your skin. It's not too much color. It's just a little bit of color, a little bit of glow. It highlights in the right places, and it's great.”Charlotte Tilbury Supermodel Body $65Shop
“I only box. It's the only thing that keeps me sane. I can't just go to the gym and run. I'd rather die,” Hadid jokingly asserted during that same Elle interview. “I played volleyball and rode horses my entire life, so just like moving to a city and having to go to the gym was so weird for me. And boxing was the first thing where I felt like I wanted to go to the gym and get better at it and improve. My trainer, Rob Piela, is one of my best friends. If I get tired, I'll just hit him and lie on the floor and talk.”
“I use the GHD Smooth & Finish Serum ($24)-all of the GHD tools and serums are really great,” Hadid told Into the Gloss. “Also I use Wella Professionals EIMI Ocean Spritz ($19)-you spray it in and then just mess your hair up.”Ghd Smooth & Finish Serum $24Shop
“I don't wash my hair every day, which is what keeps it healthy because that way it doesn't dry out,” Hadid explained to Into the Gloss.
“I start off with Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation in O13 ($77),” she continued. “My mom uses it, so I just went along. I put it on with a Tarte Buffer Airbrush Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush ($34)-they actually work really nice together. The Aqua Foundation is nice because it doesn't cake and it just brightens my skin. It's also light enough, so you can still see my freckles.”Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation $77Shop
