None of These Dessert Recipes Have Any Sugar (You're Welcome)

So sometimes, we try our best to stave off these urges. But that doesn't necessarily mean you should always try to stave off your sweet tooth. Thanks toВ Laurel Gallucci, founder ofВ Sweet Laurel bakery, you can now indulge your cravings with these refined sugar-free dessert recipes that taste just as good as the realВ thing, but have a bit more nutritional value.

Gallucci's concoctions don't have sugar, but they are wholesome, healthful, and extremely delicious. (If you've ever had the privilege of tasting one of her cakes, you know exactly what we're talking about.) However, for those of you who don't have Sweet Laurel nearby, she shared a few of her easy, healthy recipes, all of which are free of refined sugar, gluten, and dairy.

From an Instagram-worthy chocolate cake to delectable strawberry waffles, both of which are made with maple syrup (a healthy sugar alternative that Smith says has 54 antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties), Gallucci has provided us with easy-to-follow recipes so that you can stick to your diet and avoid the guilt.

Strawberry Shortcake Waffles

Sweet Laurel

Ingredients for Waffles:

1/3 cup coconut or almond milk
3 tbsp. coconut oil (plus a little extra for greasing the waffle iron)
1 tbsp.В 100% maple syrup
2 tsp.В vanilla extract
1/4 tsp.В apple cider vinegar
1 1/4 cup almond flour
1/2 tsp.В baking soda
1/4 tsp.В salt
3 eggs

Ingredients for Topping:

2 cans coconut cream (refrigerate overnight)
2 tbsp. 100% maple syrup
1 tbsp.В vanilla extract
3 cups strawberries (chopped)

Directions for Waffles:

Grease a waffle iron with coconut oil. Mix all ingredients except eggs in a blender on high. Switch your blender settings to low, and slowly add the eggs. Pour the mixture into a waffle iron, and make according to the waffle iron instructions.В

Snowball Cake

Ingredients for Cake:

2В cups almond flour
1/4 cup cacao
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. Himalayan pink sea salt
2 eggs
1 cup 100% maple syrup
1/4 cup water
1 tbsp. vanilla extract

Ingredients for Frosting:

4 cups cashews (soaked in water overnight)
1В cup water
1/4 cup coconut oil
1/4В cup 100% maple syrup
1 tbsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. sea salt

Directions for Cake:

Preheat the oven to 350В°F. Grease one eight- to nine-inch pan with coconut oil. Mix almond flour, cacao, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. Add eggs, maple syrup, water, and vanilla. Stir until it forms a batter. Pour into the prepared pan. Bake for 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before frosting.

Easy Chocolate Chip Cookies

3 cups almond flour
1/2 tsp. Himalayan pink salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup coconut oil, melted
1/2 cup 100% maple syrup or honey
1 tbsp. pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup refined sugar-freeВ chocolate chipsВ


Set your oven to 350В°F. Stir together the dry ingredients in a medium bowl. Separately, whisk together all wet ingredients, then stir into the dry ingredients. Add refined sugar-free chocolate chips like King Arthur Flour's Sugar-Free Chocolate ChipsВ ($11), and stir to combine. Place one- to two-inch balls of batter onto greased or parchment-lined baking pans, and lightly press down. Bake for seven to nine minutes, until just golden brown around the edges. Remove from the oven, and place the cookies on a cooling rack.
